Crawl

Quinn McCutchen

Crawl was written right as we were going in the studio to record our album. In fact, the structure was ad-libbed as we were recording it. It's essentially a song about continuing on despite failure.

Music for myself, as well as Agonis Thorn (bass) and Steve Jones (drums, vocals) is an escape, an adventure, a medium for expression and a way of life. We'll ride Euphoria as far as it takes us. At the same time, our only expectation is to enjoy what we do whether it's rehearsing in the basement or playing in front of a sold-out crowd. To be able to play music with the other guys in Euphoria is an honor and a privilege. We come from all walks of life and it shows in our music.

As for my role as a physician, to me anesthesiology is the greatest job in the world. It has the right mix of intensity, challenges, and procedures while still allowing me to pursue my interests outside of medicine. It, more than any other field is physiology (and pathophysiology) in action. I'm very privileged to be able to practice on the cutting edge of the field at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and especially fortunate to be able to teach residents and medical students.

Lifelong Goals: To realize my ultimate potential.

Personal Philosophy on Life and/or Medicine: Being a physician is just a small part of being a person. Balance in all things. Moderation is important. Life is and will always be a mystery. If you figure out your place in the world, things will come easily for you. If you try to make your place in the world, every step will be a battle.
