Ardmore Tower West (2002)

At eleven stories tall and 400,000 square feet of area, Ardmore Tower West maintains a large presence at the Medical Center.  Six of the floors in Ardmore West make up Brenner Children's Hospital, which moved out of its prior location in North Tower to the newly built Ardmore West.  The lower five floors of Ardmore Tower West are made up of operating rooms, outpatient facilities, and cardiac catheterization labs.

Ardmore Tower West was built on top of the emergency room located in Ardmore Tower.  Ardmore Tower West can be considered a vertical expansion of Ardmore Tower.

Miller Plaza (2002)

Miller Plaza is one of the Medical Center's buildings that is not located on the main campus.  It is located only a few blocks away on the corner of Cloverdale Avenue and Miller Street.

This four story, 75,552 square foot facility is home to Information Services and the Public Relations and Marketing departments.

Comprehensive Cancer Center (2004)

The Outpatient Comprehensive Cancer Center opened in August of 2004, after two years of construction.  The eye catching, four story, 257,350 square foot glass building is located in the northern area of the Medical Center, facing Cloverdale Avenue and Business 40.  With an anticipation of growth, the building was designed so that an additional six stories can be built on top of the existing structure.

The attractive building is not the average hospital facility that one may think of.  Patients are greeted by a waterfall outside of the main entrance and are further welcomed by natural light that floods the building's atrium and other rooms.  Calming colors, music and artwork also help give the facility a unique feel.

Several services are located in the Comprehensive Cancer Center including the Radiation Oncology Department, a pharmacy, an appearance boutique, food court, a meditation room, and outpatient services.

Piedmont Triad Research Park...The Future...

On April 13, 2004 Wake Forest University Health Sciences broke ground on a new endeavor, the Piedmont Triad Research Park (PTRP).  Construction is underway on the 240-acre park, located in downtown Winston-Salem, minutes away from the Medical Center campus.  The park will be divided into three districts: Southern, for a poly-university campus; Central, for a life-science research park; and Northern, for a mixed use village.  As of early 2006, six buildings are complete while two remain under construction.  If all goes according to plan, the PTRP should be completed around 2030-2035.
