Created Electronic Journals Database which allows faster access to the Library's online journals' sites with password information and subscription years.
Developed a cataloging policy for electronic journal subscriptions. E-journals will be cataloged on the same bibliographic record as the print subscription, with an added header indicating library holdings, location, etc.
Signed an agreement with Academic Press for a site license to their IDEAL© Library that will provide both campuses of the University with access to all 176 Academic Press electronic titles.
Added OVID Technologies' OpenLinks to all Academic Press and Elsevier titles. OpenLinks allows a user of OVID Medline to link from a Medline citation to the article on the journal's Web site.
Added site licenses for Nature, Nature Weekly, and four Cell Press titles.
Developed an electronic table-of-contents feature and then created a database of those titles.
Initiated a major weeding of the book collection. All books published before 1985 will be considered as candidates for removal.
Began a reorganization, weeding, and relocation project for the closed reserve collection. This project will free up space at the Circulation Desk and make the PreTest series books more accessible.
Completed the Faculty Publications appendix and statistics tables for the 1999-2000 Dean's Annual Report. The number of faculty publications for 2000-2001 remained steady.
Attempted migration of Faculty Publication database from Cuadra to Voyager, then instead worked with the Library's LAN Administrator to migrate all data to Microsoft Access and make Faculty Publications in Access searchable via the Library's Web page.
Provided HTML files for the monthly Faculty Information Bulletin to appear on the Library's Web page.
Updated the Cataloging Policy and Procedures manual.
Updated the Collection Development section of the Technical Services Policy and Procedures manual.
The Dorothy Carpenter Medical Archives became the official and permanent repository for the NCBH School of Nursing Transcripts, a collection that is 22.03 cubic feet and includes transcripts from 1926-1974.
